Vertical ventilation

Traditional ventilation systems moves indoor air horizontally through a room. The Goflow system uses vertical displacement ventilation. This means that the air is transported out via the shortest route and does not come into contact with any other individuals in the room room.

Vertical Displacement Ventilation (System V)

Using vertical displacement ventilation, fresh air is blown into the room through a raised, perforated floor. This airflow then moves straight up toward the ceiling, where the used air is efficiently exhausted through slots in the suspended ceiling. No student is skipped when ventilating. This has the main benefit of reducing aerosol exposure by 98%.

This method ensures that the air you breathe does not circulate past others, which reduces the
significantly limits aerosol dispersion. TNO research shows that these
approach reduces aerosol exposure by as much as 98%. An added benefit is that the room is efficiently heated.

The 4 elements

The Goflow system consists of the following elements:

Air handling unit

A modular air handling unit. Each module has the same dimensions and is portable and easy to transport. The air handling unit is equipped with several heat exchangers and a fine dust filter system.

Breathing floor

A breathable floor with air socks and convectors that distribute warm or cold air evenly throughout the classroom.

Breathing ceiling

A breathing ceiling that removes used air in a controlled manner.

Climate sensors

Climate sensors that objectively monitor the indoor environment for CO2, temperature, particulate matter, volatile organic compounds, and the humidity.

Horizontal Displacement Ventilation (System H)

In horizontal displacement ventilation, filtered clean outside air is conditioned and evenly blown into the side of the classroom. This air flows horizontally through the classroom and is exhausted at the center of the system ceiling. This method of ventilation provides a low-level way to significantly reduce the exposure to aerosols significantly reduced without replacing the floor.

Four Seasons in one Indoor Climate System (System F)

Each season has its own influence on the indoor climate of a school building, depending on the location and type of building. Sunny days often cause heat pollution, while in winter, old buildings with poor insulation and single glass create cold and energy loss. These challenges, combined with the limited options for installing low-temperature heating or heat pumps, make indoor climate management complex.

The solution to this is the FourSeasons WTW (heat recovery) unit, a smart ventilation solution suitable for any season. Designed for classrooms and provides efficient, high-capacity ventilation while keeping energy consumption remains low. In winter, the system ventilates at whisper-quiet capacity, supports low-temperature heating and recycles more than 95% of the energy. In summer it provides nighttime cooling and retains cooler air in classrooms through of an exchanger.

Materials and maintenance

  • The air handling cabinet fits into any interior. In addition, there is a possibility to expand the cabinet with additional storage space.
  • The breathable floor has a top layer of PVC, a wear-resistant floor covering. The floor has many holes. Dust is collected in a container under the floor, which is simply cleaned by vacuuming.
