Pilot financing sustainable climate systems

Pilot financing sustainable climate systems

Many schools struggle with poor, unsustainable climate systems that also have excessively high energy costs. We believe that investing in sustainable climate systems is fundamentally a matter for the building owner. In most cases, this is the municipality.

Even with subsidies, schools often have to bear a large part of the investment. This is done by tapping funds meant for education itself. This is wrong in principle.

In addition, schools are on the verge of receiving IHP funds in the future, while they are in dire need of durable replacement just now. So what makes more sense to bring the IHP funds "forward"?

We plan to do this in cooperation with Invest-NL and Bank Nederlandse Gemeenten (BNG).

Our plan

The plan is to offer educational institutions an IHP bridging facility based on a very low interest rate. Repayment will be made when the municipality makes the IHP funds available to the school.

The objective is that we can at least cover the interest costs from the energy savings, thus the investment will lead to a more positive cash flow.

Goflow is now at the stage where we want to talk very concretely with potential participants to finalise the plans.
